Swink Boys Basketball:The Team

  Author:Ben Miner

The Swink Boys Basketball is a small 2a team located in Swink Colorado. They are a very talented team with lots of potential. The team consists of two seniors, five juniors, three sophomores and five freshmen. Swink has started out the season 4-7 but has a lot more games left to play. Here’s a little bit more about the Swink Boys Basketball team.

The Coaches

There are two coaches for Swink. The Head Coach is James Lopez who is also a teacher for the school. James used to also help coach the football team for Swink. The assistant coach is Jeff Paolucci. Jeff likes to stear it up with the refs, so he gets technicals. James has been coaching the team for two years while Jeff has been here for three years. These coaches have a lot of knowledge on the game and they help this team get better and better each day. It’s awesome how dedicated they are to the team, even with all the other things they got going on. They truly are what holds this team together, along with the dedication of the players.

The Starters

The Swink basketball starters consist of two seniors, one junior, and two sophomores. The two seniors are Clay Roweth, and Trevin Holland. Roweth is a 6’2 beast that is dominant in the paint, and a threat outside the three line. Holland is the main point guard that is excellent on defence and a dangerous shooter. Garlon Guerin is the lone junior starter. He is a 6’9 guard/post that is a great defender, but needs to work on layups. Hunter Bauserman, and Hunter Reynolds are the two sophomores on the starting five for Swink. Both Hunters are decent shooters, and Basuermen is a decent defender. Reynolds is a good rebounder but definitely needs to work on defence and hustle. These five are good basketball players and good students, and it shows on the court.

Meet More of the Team!

There are 10 other players on the team. Four come off the varsity bench and the others usually just play JV. Ben Miner, Justin Paolucci, Nate Caberara, and Nick Paolucci are the four that come off the bench for varsity. These four are deadly when they come on the court and are great hype men. The others that are JV players are, Thomas Valdez, Braxton Place, Cort Lawrew, Taityn Wilsey, Lance Wilson and Luis Caralle. The Swink Boys Basketball team has a lot of players with a lot of potential, and it is clearly showing this season.

Signing Off

Now you have met the team. As you can see these boys are very talented and are great students on and off the court. With only two weeks left in the regular season, Swink is still hunting for the playoffs. It is going to be a rough stretch of games, with four this week and one the next, including the pigtail games. With team leader, Clay Roweth, leading the charge, this basketball season has been a good one so far. Stay tuned for more news, games, and how the rest of the season pans out!

Your blog was very informative, I enjoyed reading about each of the players on the team. I also liked how organized it looks and the way it is set up, a suggestion maybe is to add captions under the coaches pictures so that people know which coach is which. Otherwise I really enjoyed reading your blog.

  5. This piece of work really brings me back. Back, back to a time where blogs were made well, and held interesting information. The way one gives a fusillade of information about their basketball team makes me feel younger, somehow. The style and format are as intriguing as they are well built. What catches my eye is the skill of such splendid writing, it makes me feel such joy that few other pieces of work do.
